Purpose of NIOS

Examinations Conducted by NIOS
Examinations are conducted by NIOS every year in two segments, of which one is taken in the month of April-May and another in the month of October-November. Students are able to apply for On-Demand Examination of their respective subjects if they wish.
Every student must choose minimum five subjects of their choice and maximum seven subjects. You will get a maximum of nine chances during their five years of study to successfully pass the exam. You must obtain 33% marks on an average to successfully clear the examination.

It is very easy to take admission at the National Institute of open schooling. The process of admission at the NIOS is very simple. Before 2011-12, admission was possible to the NIOS only in offline mode. But, the scenario has changed and the process of admission has become 100% online mode.
