The full form of ITI is the Industrial Training Institute. It is a government organization where high school students are provided the basic industry-oriented training.
Candidates can apply for some trades after the completion of grade 8. Technical knowledge of industries is provided through these institutions after 10 grade.

Students through this training are becoming interested to gain technical knowledge instead of conventional higher education. Directorate-General for Employment and Training (DGET), the Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship and the Government of the India are responsible for the establishment of these ITI for making arrangement to provide training to the interested students in various fields.

Duration of the Course
Through this programs, ITIs is providing training on technology in various trades. For every trade, you will get training as per the certain skillset. Depending on the trade, your course may be of 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 18 months and 24 months. Check the duration of the courses before joining any of them.
Types of available ITI courses in India
We can classify the courses into two types according to the nature of the courses such as:
(i) Engineering Courses:
In Engineering ITI courses or trades more emphasis are providing on the technical section. You will learn various topics of Maths, Physics, and other related topics. Generally, the duration of this course is 2 years.
(ii) Non-Engineering Courses:
In this course, topics that are of management and daily life related will be taught. In general, duration of this course is about 6 months to 12 months.
Process of Admission in ITI
Candidates can take admission by the following two methods such as:
(i) Direct Admission:
In the process of direct admission, candidates will get direct admission on the basis of marks obtained in 10th board examination. Having score more than 35% are eligible to apply for ITI courses.
(ii) Based on the Entrance Examination:
To get admission in the government colleges, you have to appear in the entrance examination administer by the specific state. As per your performance in this examination, you will be allotted seats in the colleges.
Course fees for ITI
It takes less amount to pursue this course as compare to engineering courses. Generally, private institutions charge more fees than government institutions.
For engineering trades, you have to fees of Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 10,000 and for the non-engineering courses fees will be approximately Rs. 3,950 to Rs. 7,000. Other than this, you need to pay examination fee for every examination.
