What is Banking PO?
PO stands for Probationary Officer, basically Assistant Manager of Scale I or Junior Manager of Grade I Scale also known as Scale I officer. Banking PO is considered as highly reputed and prestigious job.
Candidates who are willing to choose their career in banking, PO is a better option for them. Before starting preparation, you need to know all the things about PO. After selection as a PO, one has to an intensive training program. Generally, probation is of 2 years but it varies in different banks.

During Probation period, candidates are given training on finance, accounting, billing, investment etc.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit:
All the candidates are informed that the minimum age must be 21 years old and the maximum age 30 years old to apply for IBPS PO Exam 2022. Also, there are age relaxation in category wise as per the government rules.
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST Candidates: 5 years
- OBC category from the non-creamy layer: 3 Years
- Persons with Disabilities (Partial or Full Blindness, Partial or Total Loss of Hearing, Locomotor Disabilities Intellectual or Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Illness Multiple Concurrent Disabilities): 10 Years
- Ex-Servicemen: 5 years
- Person Domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir Between 1980-1989: 5 Years
- 1984 Riot Victims: 5 Years
Age relaxation in IBPS PO exam is given only to those candidates who are specified in Official notification.
Educational Qualification:
Minimum educational qualification for the IBPS PO Exam is graduation degree. Candidates should be graduated in any discipline like BA, B.Sc., B. Com, BE/B-Tech, etc. from a University that should be recognized by the Government of India.
IBPS PO Vacancies
The number of vacancies has been disclosed with the release of notification. IBPS has mentioned that a total of 1417 vacancies allotted for the post of Probationary Officer/Management Trainee(PO/MT). You can see the previous year’s vacancies in the below list.

IBPS PO Apply Online
The registration process for IBPS PO is totally online. Aspirants can register himself through official website. The candidates have to make their payment online.
IBPS PO Online Application Fees:
- For General and Others: Rs. 850/- (including intimation charges)
- For SC/ST/PWD: Rs. 175/- (Intimation Charges only)
Candidates who successfully have done their registration and payment will be issued admit card.
IBPS PO Admit Card
Applicants need to download hard copy of their admit card as it will not be sent via Post. Candidates can avail their admit card 10 to 15 days before the IBPS PO Exam. Admit Card will be released for the Preliminary exam of 2022 on October, and for the main exam will on November.
After successful attempts in preliminary and main examination candidates can avail their admit card for interview as per schedule.
To get admit card download you need the following:
- Registration No/Roll No.
- Date of Birth/ Password.
IBPS PO Cut Off
The cut off score is the minimum score required to obtained by a candidate to be shortlisted for the next stage. IBPS PO cut offs varies year to year depending on the number of vacancies available. Scores of successful aspirants in IBPS PO main is not shared before the completion of IBPS interview process.

IBPS PO Exam Center
- Many centers across the India.
- List of examination center for preliminary as well as main is given in the official notification.
- Examination center is not subject to change once chosen.
- IBPS has the authority to allot another examination center outside your choices.
IBPS PO Exam Pattern
Preliminary Exam Pattern:
For this step syllabus is confined into Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language with a total of 100 questions. Time allotted for this examination is 1 hour.
There is negative marking as well in this examination and 0.25 number will be deducted for every wrong answer that means 1 number will be deducted for every four wrong attempts. This is nothing but a qualifying round.
To qualify for the main exam, candidates have to clear all the 3 sections. Question pattern for this examination is as follows:

Main Exam Pattern:
Main examination is of descriptive type. In this stage there are 5 sections viz. Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative, Aptitude, General Awareness, Computer Aptitude. There is no separate question paper for Computer Aptitude. A total of time allotted for the main examination is 180 minutes.

IBPS PO Interview:
Candidates who successfully passed preliminary and main are called for interview. The interview is of 100 marks out of which you have to score minimum of 40% (35% for SC/ST).

IBPS PO Selection Process
Preliminary examination is just to take a hall ticket for main examination. Number of preliminary will not be carried forward. Number of main exam and interview will be considered while making merit list. Candidates who makes their name in the list are offered joining letter. Provisional Allotment released for the selected aspirants.
