  • Candidates must complete their graduation degree from any recognized university.

Syllabus of IAS Exam

To know syllabus is a very important to get idea about the exam. The recruitment process is divided into three phases viz. Prelims, Mains and Interview. The first stage is Prelims and is of objective type.

The second stage is Main that contain subjective type questions and the last stage is the interview. Marks obtained in the Prelims examination is not included in the final merit list. Marks obtained in the main exam and interview are considered for preparing the merit list.

Prelims Second Paper (CSAT)

About Examination

To become an IAS officer, you have to clear the UPSC examination consisting three stages are: Prelims, Mains, and Interview. Less than 1000 candidates are recruited through this examination among lakh of students in 24 different posts.

Preliminary Examination: Consists 2 papers, of which paper 1 is General Studies with 100 questions. On the other hand, paper 2 is CSAT, an aptitude test of 80 questions. In the both papers 2 hours is allotted with 200 marks each.

Main Examination: This paper consists 9 papers, out of which only 7 papers are taken into consideration to prepare rank of the candidates. The remaining 2 papers are qualifying.
