AISSE Full Form 2022

The AISSE full form is the All India Secondary School Examination which is also familiar to us as board exams. It is a national level examination which is conducted for the students completed class 10 from the schools affiliated by Central Board of Secondary Education.

Periodically, every year this examination is conducted in February month after the implementation of ambitious project of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation. With the introduction of exams like Joint Employment Test, NEET, etc., the board has ended the pattern of the examination.

Presently, National Testing Agency is the conducting body of this examination. There are subjects like Mathematics, Science (physics, chemistry, biology) and S.S.T (history, geography, democratic politics, economics) which are compulsory and two languages from official language of medium and foreign/ schedule languages.

There are also subjects related to skills improvement like information technology, painting, yoga, music or artificial intelligence.

After successfully completing this examination, candidates are provided a certificate for the completion of secondary school along with this a Statement of Marks, and a Migration Certificate is also given which declare the completion of secondary schooling and eligible for higher education.

In the academic season 2016-17, the Central Board of Secondary Education has made old syllabus and marking system effective. There are central examinations as well as state examinations in India.

About AISSE

This examination is very popular examination in India and known to us as ‘board exams’. Students needs to study on any stream which is related to evaluation known as Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation. The then Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal decided to apply this method to remove pressure on the students.

Now in the current trend, exam of a year is divided into two parts i.e. semesters but the previous trend was to take examination once a year. In these semesters, there are two tests as Formative and summative.

In this semester system, there is two halves for each examination of which first half is taken during April–September and the other half is taken during October–March.

During academic year of 2017-18, the traditional system again came into force again instead of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation scheme.

Components of AISSE

Every subjects have two parts such as theoretical/ written of 90 marks and other part is practical assessment of 10 marks including assignments, classroom projects, and presentations. In the new system, theoretical/ written examination is of 80 marks and 20 marks for internal assessment.

During academic year of 2019-20, the Central Board of Secondary Education have decided to change the pattern and of 80 marks in theory. In this pattern, number of questions i.e. number options have increased for each paper.

The reason behind this was to shift the tendency of the students from rote learning to skilled learning. The stress for tests are also decreased from 10 to 5 and marks in the assignment has increased to 15.

There are five or six exams students have to appear which is of 100 marks each. Out of these, the best five subjects will be taken into consideration. The compulsory subjects for the students are English and any other regional language.

The full marks of this examination is 500 and percentage is calculated on the basis of this number.

The minimum number that students have to score is 40 of 100 marks for each subjects to clear the examination successfully.

To take admission for higher education in schools and junior colleges, the score of this examination is very important if admission test is not taken. So, this examination may be considered to be a very vital factors for admission in their respective stream.

There are few states in India such as Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, West Bengal that have their own state board examination which is known as their State Secondary School Certificate.
